I.T. Career Start Program

The Information Technology Career Start Program is designed to provide you with the skills and certifications necessary to jump start your career in Information Technology (I.T.). The information technology industry is highly focused on certifications. The ITCS program is comprised of seven prominent I.T. industry standard certifications. These certifications provide students with the essential knowledge necessary to succeed in any I.T. position, along with several elective courses that can help magnify the value you can bring to an I.T. support role.

CompTIA Secure Infrastructure Specialist

CompTIA Professional Certification is designed to provide you with the skills and certifications necessary to jump start your career in Information Technology (I.T.). The program includes four different I.T. industry standard certifications necessary to give students the baseline knowledge required for every I.T. position.

Many I.T. positions are likely to require one or more of these certifications to be eligible for hire and credibility in the I.T. professional workplace.

This challenging professional program is for career students who already have experience in the Information Technology field and are looking to update and validate their experience with greatly respected and recognized industry credentials.

The Information Systems Security Professional is a program designed to provide an IT professional with 2+ years of experience with the skills and industry certifications necessary to accelerate a career in Information Technology for Cybersecurity/IT Security. The program is designed to provide you with the I.T. skills and certifications necessary for a successful career administering, managing, security, and troubleshooting complex computer network environments.

Program Duration: 216 Classroom Hours

The Business Technology: Project and Process Management Program is designed for students who would like to further their project management knowledge and become certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or a Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM) which are the most widely recognized project management certifications in the world. Students will attend training courses from a variety of business application and computer related courses. 

To obtain the PMP certification, you must meet the following: 

  • 4-year degree
  • 3 years of project management experience
  • 35 contact hours of formal project management education (The PMP class in this program meets this requirement.)

To obtain the CAPM certification, you must meet the following:

  • a secondary degree, high school diploma, or the global equivalent
  • minimum of 1,500 hours of project experience OR
  • 23 hours of project management education by the time you sit for the exam (The PMP/CAPM class in this program will fulfill this requirement.)

Funding Sources

Training Concepts offers a robust variety of scholarships of unrestricted financial aid that are geared expressly to facilitate employment and career advancement. If you meet the federal economically disadvantaged eligibility criteria of the W.I.O.A. (Workforce Innovations & Opportunities Act) you qualify for the TC Hardship Partial Scholarship. If you are transitioning out of the military and looking for a career in IT you may qualify for our Skillbridge-CSP Scholarship. Do you have a family member, partner or associate registered to attend Training Concepts? You may qualify for a Co-Enrollment Full Scholarship. If you have successfully completed a program at Training Concepts you may qualify for the TC Alumni Scholarship to update your skills or credentials for CE-Continuing Education or you may utilize the PTH-Prefer To Hire Scholarship to secure specific employment opportunities.

Training Concepts is a VA Preferred Provider.

VET TEC® is a pilot program offered by the VA to assist veterans or transitioning service members (within 180 days of their separation) with entering the Information Technology career field. VET TEC® is designed to focus heavily on incentive providers to facilitate employment within 180 days after completion of an approved vocational program. For preferred VET TEC® providers, it encourages a full partnership with the students AND providers to secure gainful employment. The VA will not fund any training costs if verified employment is not obtained.

The Skillbridge (or Army CSP) program is for DOD servicemembers who are transitioning out of service within six months. This program allows you to take time off from your regular active duty job role to attend training. At Training Concepts, we provide training in CompTIA A+ Hardware, CompTIA A+ Software, and CompTIA Network+ free of charge to eligible Skillbridge participants.

The Veteran’s Readiness & Employment program is designed for veterans with a service-connected disability rating who are currently unemployed or underemployed. Through VR&E, you’ll be assigned to a VA career counselor who will assist you with getting a job (including paying for training) in a career path that better accommodates your injury or disability.

If you are a military spouse, the Department of Defense (DOD) offers a special funding source specifically for you. The Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) can pay up to $4,000 in financial assistance for military spouses pursuing degree programs, licenses or certifications leading to employment in qualifying Career Fields.
