Funding Sources: Non-Military

One of the top concerns incoming students have regarding their Career Development Program is the cost of tuition.

There are many different funding options available to suit your specific training needs. Exploring which benefits you may be eligible to receive will help you progress in your career training. Understanding those benefits will help you decide which program is the right choice to help you meet your career goals.

The Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides job training benefits for adults, dislocated workers, and youth looking to gain skills necessary to obtain and maintain employment. To qualify, you must be approved by your local workforce development agency. For more information about WIOA funding please visit scworksmidlands.org.

The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program was designed to help workers who have lost their previous job due to foreign outsourcing. The TAA program seeks to provide these trade-affected workers with opportunities to obtain the skills, resources, and support they need to become reemployed. The program benefits and services that are available to individual workers are administered by the states through agreements between the Secretary of Labor and each state Governor.

To use this funding, you must be approved by the local workforce development agency. For more information please click here to visit the stie.

Training Concepts is a VA Preferred Provider.

VET TEC® is a pilot program offered by the VA to assist veterans or transitioning service members (within 180 days of their separation) with entering the Information Technology career field. VET TEC® is designed to focus heavily on incentive providers to facilitate employment within 180 days after completion of an approved vocational program. For preferred VET TEC® providers, it encourages a full partnership with the students AND providers to secure gainful employment. The VA will not fund any training costs if verified employment is not obtained.

The Skillbridge (or Army CSP) program is for DOD servicemembers who are transitioning out of service within six months. This program allows you to take time off from your regular active duty job role to attend training. At Training Concepts, we provide training in CompTIA A+ Hardware, CompTIA A+ Software, and CompTIA Network+ free of charge to eligible Skillbridge participants.

The Veteran’s Readiness & Employment program is designed for veterans with a service-connected disability rating who are currently unemployed or underemployed. Through VR&E, you’ll be assigned to a VA career counselor who will assist you with getting a job (including paying for training) in a career path that better accommodates your injury or disability.

For Active Duty service members, CA is a great supplemental funding resource. Click here to learn more.

If you are a military spouse, the Department of Defense (DOD) offers a special funding source specifically for you. The Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) can pay up to $4,000 in financial assistance for military spouses pursuing degree programs, licenses or certifications leading to employment in qualifying Career Fields. Learn more about MYCAA here.

All the TC instructors and team have been very available, and they really care about each student's learning and getting the best training possible.
